USFDA nod for Strides drug
The Hindu Business Line: June 16, 2010

Bangalore: Strides Arcolab Ltd said it has received the US FDA approval for a drug taken for acute migraine attacks. Sumatriptan succinate injection will be launched “in the near future” in partnership with Sagent Pharma. This is the tenth sterile injectable approved in 2010, the company said. Citing IMS data, the company said the total US market for sumatriptan in 2009 was around $200 million. A bulk of this, about $ 180 million, came from auto-injectors using pre-filled syringes and cartridges. Strides is developing and supplying more than 25 injectable products to be sold in the US by Sagent.
